Aims and Scope

The Nigerian Journal of Technical Education publishes theoretical, practical research and analytical papers in all areas of academic endeavours but with emphasis on Technological and Engineering area. The Journal is committed to the promotion of scholarship and dissemination of knowledge, therefore, every paper intended for publication in the journal must make a definitive contribution to knowledge and educational development. The journal is a forum for promoting applied research and adaptive technology in all areas of learning.

Publication Schedule

The NJTE is published twice a year, June and December, and the two issues constitute a volume.

Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced and only on one side of the paper (A4 sixe)and should be submitted in quadruplets. Every paper must have an abstract, and a cover page giving details of title, author(s) name(s) address and a brief bio-data. Articles should generally be within the range of 2,000 to 5,000 words. Rejected manuscripts are not normally returned to authors and the Editorial Borad exercoses copyright over all papers published.

Abstract

The abstract should be concise and clear and not more than 200 words, or half a page, and in a single paragraph. It should show clearly the focus and thrust of the work as well as provide a brief overview of the problem, procedure adopted and findings.

Introduction

This should provide the background to the study as well as a review of relevant previous work done by other researchers on the subject. However, all works consulted or authors cited must be listed in the reference/Bibliography. The introduction should bring out the objectives and scope of the study and also highlight the need. Where necessary, a definition of terms may be provided.

Tables, Figures, Graphs and Diagrams

Tables should be numbered consecutively in Roman numerals, and should have titles written above e.g. Table IV, Population Trend in Nigeria, 1960 – 1990. Figures and graphs are to be numbered in Arabic numerals, and should carry titles written below e.g. Fig. 4: Side view of Lathe Machine. All necessary illustrations 0r photographs where applicable, should accompany manuscripts. Notations should be made in the manuscripts to indicate the precise location and sequence of the illustrations.
